· Ask VP of Education to assign someone
· Ask someone who attends meetings regularly
· Find someone that you admire
· After you identify the are you need mentoring , look around for the person that have such knowledge and expertise then make a request
· Try out your assigned mentor
· Hire a professional
· Ask others for suggestions
· Always pick a busy person
· Have the courage to ask that person you admire
· Like the way a person conducts themselves

How to become an effective mentor when you decided to take the mentoring role?
· Make expectations clear
· Monthly communication
· Extra attention at meetings
· Pick someone who has a style opposite of yours – different point of view

· Pick someone who can be assets to each other
· Someone who won’t put up with your excuses
· Make sure you are there for their speeches
· Provide solid mix of positive feedback with things to improve

· Meet one on one with your mentee to explain how Toastmasters works
