I have the extreme honor of stepping into the role as the Park City Toastmasters Club President this year. I knew that this year specifically would be challenging with the initiation of the Pathways Program and that is exactly what got me excited for this position!
Many of the members of this club are both more experienced at speaking and leading, though I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity all around.
A strong belief of mine is that leadership is about influencing other by asking the correct questions. There is this story about an old engineer who fixes ships. Upon inspecting an engine failure he would pull out a small hammer and gently tap one spot. Instantly the engine would be fixed.
Action is important, but know where to take action makes all the difference.
